About Us

The Rotary Club of Bangkok South received its charter on 7 August 1961. We are one of the oldest Rotary clubs in Thailand and celebrated our 60th anniversary in 2021.

Our membership fluctuates between 100-120 members from around 20 countries, making us one of the largest and most diverse Rotary Clubs in Thailand.

All of us want to give something back to the communities in which we live and work, particularly to those who are less advantaged than we are and who need a helping hand to improve the quality of their lives. Rotary can be the perfect medium to help do this!

Each year we raise about +3,000,000 Baht from various fund-raising activities plus other funds through sponsorship and cooperative programs. All this money is channelled directly to projects benefiting the poor and disadvantaged in Thailand, with an emphasis on sustainable projects assisting children. All money raised goes completely and directly to our charity projects. There are no commissions or project operating costs deducted whatsoever.

Members give their time and effort freely as all club operating costs funded by membership fees and not charitable donations.

Rotary Thailand

There are 353 Rotary Clubs in Thailand (as of 31 July 2021), the vast majority of which, of course, conduct their affairs and meetings in Thai. There are, however, eight clubs that use English, and one club each using Chinese, Japanese, French and German.
The Rotary Club of Bangkok South has extensive links with clubs all over Thailand, and not just the English-speaking ones. Many of these links come about through our Clean Drinking Water and Library Kit projects, as well as projects done via Matching Grants.
