Rotary is a worldwide organization of more than 1.2 million business, professional and community leaders.
Members of Rotary clubs, known as Rotarians, provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world.
Rotary Club Thailand
The first Rotary Club in Thailand was the Rotary Club of Bangkok, whose Charter was granted on 28 November 1930.
After a hiatus that covered the years of the Great Depression and World War 2, the second club in Thailand was chartered on 25 June 1958, the Rotary Club of Dhonburi.
Rotary Club Bangkok South
The Rotary Club of Bangkok South received its charter on 7 August 1961. We are one of the oldest Rotary clubs in Thailand and celebrated our 50th anniversary in 2011.
Our membership fluctuates between 100-120 people from around 20 countries, making us one of the largest and most diverse Rotary Clubs in Thailand. We meet every Friday at lunch time.
Who We Help
Kid’s Day Out
Each year The Rotary Club of Bangkok South, the Pakkred Home for Handicapped Children, plus several other institutions organize a day out at the beach for over 200 handicapped and under-privileged children.
The Rotary Club of Bangkok South has a long-standing tradition of working with local Rotary Clubs throughout Thailand to improve the lives and opportunities of the rural population.
Rotary, along with our partners, has reduced polio cases by 99 percent worldwide since our first project to vaccinate children in the Philippines in 1979. We are close to eradicating polio, but we need your help. Whether you have a few minutes or a few hours, here are some ways to make a global impact and protect children against polio forever.
Low Income Communities
Over the past seven years, The Rotary Club of Bangkok South (RCBS) has been involved in an initiative to create self-sustaining projects in low-income communities in Bangkok.
Disadvantaged and Youth
Each year the Rotary Club of Bangkok South undertakes a number of projects with various institutions who care for the young, the deaf, the blind, the handicapped and the ill.
How We Raise Funds
The 29th Annual Rotary Club of Bangkok South Charity Golf Tournament will be played on Thursday, 7 March 2019 at the Thana City Golf & Sports Club, to raise funds for the Rotary Club of Bangkok South’s charity projects, focusing on children and the disadvantaged.
Coins on Silom
Coins on Silom is an annual, high-profile fundraising event held by The Rotary Club of Bangkok South along a section of Silom Road. This year’s event will be on Friday, 2 November 2018.
